Jiuzhou FC was founded in August 2022 by a group of Chinese students and young professionals living and working in the New York–New Jersey area during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The name “Jiuzhou” (九州) comes from the ancient Chinese concept of the country being divided into nine regions. Over time, Jiuzhou became a traditional name for a unified China. Since our members come from different parts of China, we chose Jiuzhou as a symbol of our shared heritage, diverse backgrounds, and the passion for soccer that brings us together.

Jiuzhou FC was founded with a simple goal: to create a consistent and welcoming place for Chinese soccer enthusiasts in the New York–New Jersey area to play, have fun, and build lasting friendships. What started with just over 20 players has grown into a community of around 40 members.

Over the past four years, Jiuzhou has established its roots in Jersey City, hosting high-quality recreational soccer games every week while continuously welcoming new players into the team. For us, soccer is more than just a sport—it is a way to connect people from different backgrounds and build a strong, supportive community.

Beyond the pitch, Jiuzhou regularly organizes social gatherings and other activities to strengthen the friendships and connections among our players. We believe that the spirit of Jiuzhou goes beyond the game itself. Our goal is not only to provide Chinese soccer lovers with a reliable and enjoyable place to play, but also to create a community where people can support, connect with, and help one another.

Four years in, Jiuzhou continues to grow, welcoming new faces while staying true to the same passion for soccer and sense of community that have defined us from the beginning.

If you love soccer and want to be part of the Jiuzhou family, come join us!
